Downstairs the large, comfortable living room, dining area and well equipped kitchen allows you to relax and entertain to your heart’s content.

Living/Dining Room

Cotswold flagstones with underfloor heating give a rustic yet cosy feel to the living room. On colder days, you can light a roaring fire in the open fireplace, using seasoned logs from the estate. There is a TV/DVD player, CD player, DAB radio and good wifi access, books and games.

Kitchen/Utility Area

The beautiful kitchen has a Smeg 6 ring gas range with electric ovens, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, slate worktops, microwave, kettle and toaster and the highest quality pans and equipment. There is a separate utility room with sink and washing machine, leading to a downstairs lavatory.

The Staircase

A quirky stone spiral staircase with a hand-made wrought iron banister leads from the dining area to the first floor. The staircase may make the property unsuitable for the very young or infirm.

The bedrooms are equipped with Cologne & Cotton bed linen and antique and locally-made oak furniture.

Sugarloaf Bedroom

The master bedroom’s beautiful painted iron double bed is ideally placed for viewing the Skirrid mountain and beyond through the window. The modern en suite features a bath and overhead rain shower, loo, basin, shaver socket and stone-tiled floor.

Skirrid Bedroom

This twin-bedded room overlooks the courtyard and the Skirrid mountain. There is a fully-tiled modern large en suite shower room with a luxurious walk-in shower with two heads – one fixed and one hand-held. Also there is a loo and large basin with shaver socket.

The Billiard Room Gardens

French doors from the living room open onto a secluded south-west facing part of the gardens. A small terrace, with a bench, table and chairs leads to a lawn with borders and a beautiful tulip tree. Sitting on the terrace, you can enjoy the surrounding scenery through the peephole garden gate and a strategically-placed viewing window in the garden wall.

The views from the cottage are spectacular, dominated by the Skirrid and Sugar Loaf mountains and the eastern edge of the Black Mountains. You are welcome to explore the gardens and surrounding woodlands on foot.

Surrounding the main house are landscaped gardens, extending up the hill and featuring a tennis court which you are welcome to use. Nearby is the working farm, which along with the vegetable garden behind the main house, furnishes the contents of your welcome pack when available.
